Mr. Clifton Starwood

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my cause, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day." -II Timothy 4:7-8 MR. CLIFTON STARWOOD was born on February 22, 1937, to the late Sylvester Vincent Starwood and the late Anna Lee Dawson. He entered his eternal resting place on May 24, 2026, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, Louisiana. Mr. Starwood accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend W. M. Mixon at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for many years. Later, he united with Dominion and Power Family Life Center under the leadership of Apostle Paul L. Beard, where he served faithfully until his health declined. Mr. Starwood proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was also a mason and worked as an insurance agent and a concrete finisher. He was a man of strong morals, wisdom, integrity, and quiet strength. Though he was a private person, those who knew him understood that he possessed a kind heart and a genuine concern for others. Overall, he was simply a good man inside and out. He leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved wife, Gemene Starwood; and children, Pastor Clifton Starwood, Jr., of St. Louis, MO, Jimmy Pier of Baton Rouge, LA, Greg Starwood of San Antonio, TX, Ronald Starwood of Baton Rouge, LA, Bobby Leonard of Rusk, TX, Martin Jackson of Hammond, LA, Darryl Smith of Hammond, LA, Adriane Pier of Ponchatoula, LA, Therron Starwood (Robin) of Lafayette, LA, Brett Starwood (April) of LaFayette, LA, Judy Young (Jessie Young, Sr.) of Hammond, LA, Jasmine Starwood of Hammond, LA, Sonja Starwood of Katy, TX, Anita Augusta of Baton Rouge, LA, Winnifred Muse of Hammond, LA, Robin Starwood of California, Ashlyn Smith of Hammond, LA, and Sharon Warren of Hammond, LA. He is also survived by his loving sister, Juanita Starwood; godchildren, Brandy Dennis and Veileigh Brown, both of Hammond, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Mr. Starwood was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Vincent Starwood and Anna Lee Dawson; grandparents, Rosa C. Burton and Morris Burton, Sr.; sisters, Geraldine Starwood and Temple Carter; and two children, Ellandor Jackson and Sharon Kay Starwood. Although our hearts are saddened by his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he has gone home to be with the Lord. His legacy of faith, service, wisdom, and love will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
